Australian Stephen Allan, affectionately known as the "baby-faced assassin" after his victory in the 2002 Australian Open, has received one of the 10 sponsor's invitations to play in the New Zealand PGA Championship.
Allan, 36, has played mainly on the PGA Tour in United States since 2001 after starting his professional career on the European Tour and winning the 1998 German Open.
While without victory on the PGA Tour he was runner-up in the 2003 Greater Milwaukee Open, third in the 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship and earned more than US$4 million ($5.4 million).
Other invitees include Australian Paul Spargo and Fijian Krishna Singh (elder brother of major winner Vijay) and New Zealand professionals Doug Batty, Brad Heaven, Carl Brooking, and Kevin Chun, Jordan Dasler, James Gill and Martin Pettigrew.
