Friday, Mar 6, 2009
An eagle three at the Par 5 second hole followed by birdies at the tough Par 4 eighth and the Par 5 10th have lifted New Zealand amateur Danny Lee to 22nd equal spot at five under after 10 holes of his second round of the HSBC NZ PGA Championship at Clearwater.
Lee sank a lob wedge from the front of the green for his eagle.
Mt Maunganui's Josh Geary had the equal best round of the day, a flawless seven under 65 to move from his overnight position of 77th to a share of sixth.
Wellington's Gareth Paddison has been joined in the lead at nine under by American Josh Teater and overnight leader Australian Kurt Barnes.
